Writer Profile for David Budnik
David BudnikFrankenmuth, MI
I have been woodworking since 1975, but turning since 2005. I started turning small objects like pens, bottle stoppers, cheese spreaders, and fishing lures because my wood source was a lumber mill that made custom moldings and gave me their scraps for free. I also made a lot of cutting boards and toys for our grandchildren from these scraps.
All that changed when I met Dennis in the woodshop at Sun-n-Fun RV resort in Florida. He introduced me to segmentation and a "window bowl" design. He also pointed me to a great site for segmented turning called Woodturning Online.
Now, most of my work involves segmentation and more toys for our grandkids.
